August 19. Lots of rain

I decided to have another trip out for 4 days. I had enjoyed Sparkle last month.
I got down on the Tuesday and got the apartment straight away even though I was a bit early. My plan was not to much, but I ended up going shopping. The apartment was wonderful I was very pleased;

The next day, Wednesday, I met up with Kate, we went for a few drinks to stay out of the rain. One pub we went to the Piccadilly Tavern was a pub I had been in a decade ago when I was searching for Canal St and never managed to find it. I didn't realise how close I was at the time.
We had a great meal and I felt I had sort of completed a circle from years ago. I had passed the pub many times and never gone in.

Later that night we went out to Canal St, the OnBar which is a favourite of The Manchester Minx a group Kate had started a couple of years ago.
I stayed a couple of and then said my goodbyes as I felt very tired.

Thursday morning it was still horrible with the rain so I ended up getting a all zones ticket for the tram. I ended up in Bury a town which I really like.

When I got back to Manchester I  took a visit to the National Football Museum.
There was a small exhibition on the recent Women's World Cup which I had enjoyed watching earlier in the year,

I then went to  a MAC concession to buy some make up and got a pallet for contouring and highlighting. The assistants gave me some great advice. I also bought a new top. I then went back to my apartment to cook an evening meal. I microwaved a lasagne so not really cooking. After experimenting with my make up I went out for a couple of drinks.

Friday, I didn't have to get up to early Kristina was coming round. When she arrived we went for Brunch, well it was for me at the Richmond Tea Rooms on Sackville St. The tearooms are a lovely place with great service and wonderful friendly staff.

After the tearooms we went into the city centre for a look around the shops and also the 'Peoples History museum. Unfortunately with the rain we missed the Peterloo Massacre remembrance. It was the 200th year anniversary.
The Peterloo Massacre took place at St Peter's Field, Manchester, Lancashire, England, on Monday 16 August 1819, when cavalry charged into a crowd of 60,000–80,000 who had gathered to demand the reform of parliamentary representation.
It was a dark day in Manchester's history, 18 were killed and 400-700 injured in the confusion.

We went for a walk and ended up in a cocktail bar. Where we had a couple of lovely cocktails.

It came for us to think about finding somewhere to eat. First we went back to my apartment to get changed.
We decided on Browns a great big pub and restaurant. Kristina looked wonderful in her blue dress.
We had a wonderful meal, but unfortunately the night was coming to an end. Back in the Village we had a couple of drinks then it was back to my apartment so Kristina could change and pick up her clothes. I was sad to see her go. It was the end of another wonderful time out.
The next morning I packed and left for home. Little did I know I would see the Glasgow Pride parade when I walked between Central and Queen St stations.

A wonderful sight in Glasgow

The end of another wonderful time.
Love and Light xxx
